Frost Doodles hat combines lace and cables creating interesting texture. It is worked bottom up, starting with provisional cast-on. When the provisional cast-on is removed, the brim is finished with an attractive stretchy bind-off. There are two sizes: the smaller size fits a child with up to 53 cm/21 in head (approximately 3-10 years), the larger size fits an average adult head.

Yarn
180 (200) m/200 (220) yds of DK or light worsted weight yarn.
Shown in Sublime Extra Fine Merino DK (100% merino wool, 116 m/127 yds per 50 g, col. Salty Grey). Use yarn that blocks well.

Needles and notions
• 4 mm/US size 6 needle(s) in preferred style for knitting small circumferences in the rnd, or size to obtain correct gauge
• 3.5 mm/US size 4 needle(s), or 2 sizes smaller than larger
needle(s), in preferred style for knitting small circumferences in the rnd

• scrap yarn, for provisional CO

Gauge (after blocking)
One pattern repeat of 10 sts and 12 rnds in cable and lace pattern
is 4.5 cm/1.75 in wide and 4 cm/1.5 in high, with larger needle(s).
