Fall Twists Shawl is worked sideways and shaped into an elongated triangle. Alternating stripes of squishy rib and cable pattern give the shawl an interesting texture on both sides − the shawl is reversible.
The pattern has instructions for two yarn weights: fingering and DK.

Gauge (blocked)
Stockinette Stitch: 24 (22) sts and 34 (28) rows = 10 cm/4 in
Cable Pattern: 18-stitch and 32-row pattern repeat measures 6.5 (7.5) cm/2.5 (3) in wide and 9 (10) cm/3.5 (4) in tall
2x1 Rib Pattern: 26 (21) sts and 36 (32) rows = 10 cm/4in (stretched)
Gauge is not crucial in this pattern, but changing it will affect shawl measurements and yarn use.

Yarn
1200 (960) meters/1320 (1060) yds of fingering (DK) yarn
For best results use smooth wool yarn with good stitch definition, in a solid colourway. Shown in Knit Picks Capretta Superwash (80% superwash fine merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 209 metres/230 yds per 50 g, col. Tansy Heather), and Patons Extrafine Merino DK (100% merino wool, 120 metres/132 yds per 50 g, col. 146).
